Everything I Will Lose
I. What I found
my favorite pen, wrapped in pages
where i found a girl, with bags of treasure
they were given to her but she thought she
had to give them away
for a fleeting feelingbut she didn’t have to give them away -
she could give them to herselfall by herself she could have that feeling
time - minutes, hours, days where i could
allow spacethe feeling of space
the feeling of invitationyes, the feeling of trust
of safety - inside, not
coming from outside
II. Everything
this moment
that moment
yesterday’s moments
tomorrow’s moments
this smile
this pain
a delicious sandwich
flexibility
strength
doing it myself
playing cards
playing the piano
listening to birds
you
and you
your hand
our hands
the breeze
you sitting there
the sound of you
being able to
finding the words
laughing
dancing
singing
playing
tasting
listening
all of these treasures
III. I
the yes
the feeing of yes
the space in the attic
the warmth
the feeling of support
the holder
the place of holding
the place of asking
the flow
the water
the water?
moving across the banks -
movement
a force of nature
carrying
channeling?
the energy
the energy that moves water
IV. Will
not now
not this moment
my will
my [wish]
my command?
my choosing
i will to?
what do i not want to write?
to be seen?
by whom?who will be I then?
will it feel like what when it happens?
who will that be when that feeling comes?
what will be found when it is that moment?
what could be found if that is lost?
what could i will to lose? to be lost?
V. Lose
loose
let go
what am i holding
what idea hurts to imagine
what about when i can’t paint a swooping ‘g’?
i don’t know
i will know then
i feel less afraid
i am so happy i found my favorite pen
it will run out of ink.
well, i will use all of the ink
all of the ink will move, from inside the pen
out - to a place where I can see
something - and i will (i will)
I WILL - find things - not
everything - some things - treasures
yes will feel herself, themselves
yes will feel a place and
notice moments of hands and
sounds and - oh pain, pain -
and yes will hold it, almost
contained - for the moment and
be afraid, not knowing - yet also
underneath - learning? trusting?
yes does not have to, cannot contain
can and cannot the exquisite
pain of what is beauty of
what will be lost of
what will be found
I love this hearthling.
And I love that you have found your favorite pen.
