Thanks so much for your consistent enthusiasm and support, Jim. (I don't know how to include an emoji within a comment but would like to add a heart!)

Thanks for the links and books references... The last one is already in my 'want to read' list [how can I not read a book with a tea monk!!!] and the movie for tonight's screening. Your story about scallops is close to home, it was my father's favourite food.

You are going to love the movie and the book!!! Can't wait to hear what you think : ) And isn't that sculpture gorgeous?? Have you ever seen it in real life, not TOO far from where you are?? xxx

Have you read Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer? If not, check it out. It’s the closest thing to a religious text (for me and the way I think) that I’ve read in a long time. Very much about our connect with the Earth and healing.

I HAVE read Braiding Sweetgrass and I think the quote below encapsulates a lot of what I wish/hope to do with the Hearthling: "I’ve come to think of writing as an act of reciprocity with the living land. Words to remember old stories, words to tell new ones, stories that bring science and spirit back together to nurture our becoming people made of corn."

— Braiding Sweetgrass, Robin Wall Kimmerer

(I wrote about it when the Hearthling was being born, and yes, that book was a major influence in how I'm thinking about what I am trying to do (here, and with my life)):
